By the artist 'Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta I've been an artist my entire life. I drew pictures in the car rides to campsites as a kid, always favoured my art homework over my "real" homework. A graduate from the ACAD with a bachelor of design degree, I have happily been a graphic design and illustration professional for over twelve years. I've spent that time working on many successful brand and advertising campaigns, magazines and illustrations. I still like getting my hands dirty and getting away from the computer to do traditional techniques. I've always loved working on animals (and with them!) and in pursuit of getting back to something more grounded and non-digital I've begun doing portraiture as a venue for that. The classical aspects of traditional painting techniques have served to make my design skills stronger, and vice versa. I leverage my design experience to make each pet portrait the best it can be.'
